

REV. WILLIE J. BARBER
Reverend Barber is the Co-Chair of the Sixth Episcopal District Social Action Commission of the A.M.E. Church and it’s over 400 churches in the State of Georgia, serving under the leadership of Bishop Micheal Leon Mitchell. He also serves as the Director of TIPRSS, The Turner Institute of Political, Religious, Spiritual, and Social Justice Advocacy, one of several special programs at Turner Theological Seminary under the administration of President Ammie L Davis. Reverend Barber sits on the Executive Board for the Democratic Party of GA.
My Story
Reverend Barber is the Co-Chair of the Sixth Episcopal District Social Action Commission of the A.M.E. Reverend Barber has worked as Statewide Constituency Manager for both the Biden and Harris Campaigns in Georgia as well as the Faith Director for Bailey for Lt Governor Campaign.

In addition he serves on the Harris County Board of Health as well as the Harris County DEFACS Board.
Reverend Barber attended LaGrange College where he received Bachelor’s degrees in both Chemistry and Biology. He attended University of Georgia and Emory University for graduate studies.

Professionally, he has served in middle and senior management for several global engineering and technology corporations before choosing early retirement.

Even as we are confronting a time of many challenges in our society and culture during a season of greater national and global adversity, he believes these seemingly insurmountable obstacles evoke great opportunity to remind us that we must be resolute and ask ourselves the question: “Is there anything too hard for God?”
